How long can people survive?

It has been three days since the 7.0 magnitude earthquake in Haiti. Sources say that people who were killed in the earthquake would have died in the first 72 hours. The people of Haiti are lacking resources that are in need to survive. The question is how long can they physically survive without these sources? People can go longer without food than without water. Water is one of the main resources needed ex specially in a dry and dusty area. Help is on the way starting today. The main goal of the rescue relief is to help the people alive and in need because it is probably too late for those who are buried.

It's surprising how fast time has gone by. The earthquake hit three days ago already and it's becoming too late for people who got buried in the rubble to stay alive this long. Immediate relief needs to occur as of today in order to save the people from infection and hunger. I feel for the people of Haiti and hope for the best for those who need relief.
